About

Books for everyone. Capital for those who keep them.

Qonta is an AI bookkeeping and working-capital platform for African small businesses — delivered entirely over WhatsApp.

The problem we're solving

Across Africa, millions of capable shops can't get a loan — not because they're risky, but because they keep no books. With no financial record, they're invisible to lenders, no matter how well their business is actually doing.

How Qonta works

Merchants record every sale and expense with zero effort. They forward a mobile-money message, snap a photo of a receipt, type a quick note, or send a voice note — and Qonta's AI instantly turns it into organized, categorized books.

Then Qonta answers plain-language questions like “Am I making money?” and “Who owes me?” — so owners always know exactly where they stand, without spreadsheets or accounting knowledge.

Bookkeeping is the wedge. Lending is the mission.

After a few months of recording real cash flow, Qonta can do what no traditional bank will: it uses that financial data to assess working-capital eligibility for otherwise “thin-file” merchants.

Loans are funded through licensed bank and microfinance (MFI) partners. Qonta is the underwriting engine that makes good businesses visible to lenders — not the lender itself.

Built for how Africa works

No app to download and nothing new to learn — Qonta lives inside WhatsApp, the tool merchants already use every day. Cafés, boutiques, salons, shops, pharmacies and online sellers can keep clean books and build toward the capital to grow.
